Sooners made it almost impossible for Uhila Wolfgramm not to commit on the spot

OU is just waiting for the inevitable at this point.

To the surprise of maybe even himself, four-star edge rusher Uhila Wolfgramm isn't committed to be a Sooner, at least not yet.

Wolfgramm was in Oklahoma last weekend for the first of four official visits he has scheduled for this summer. It obviously went extremely well as he admitted to 247Sports' Blair Angulo after his OU visit that he nearly pledged to the Sooners while in Norman.

"It was hard not to commit," Wolfgramm told Angulo.

Uhila Wolfgramm seems like a lock for Oklahoma's 2027 class at this point

Just a few days after Wolfgramm's visit to Oklahoma, both Steve Wiltfong and Greg Biggins logged expert predictions for him to ultimately commit to the Sooners. His comment to Angulo helped solidify those predictions.

Wolfgramm also told Angulo that he still plans to take the rest of his planned official visits, even though a decision in OU's favor seems inevitable at this point. He will be at Cal this weekend, Utah the next, and then finish up his tour at BYU the weekend of June 19. That timeline sets up his OU commitment to likely come soon after that June 19 visit, unless one of those teams out west just really blows Wolfgramm away.

The Sooners actually entered the race for Wolfgramm late before quickly sprinting to the front of the pack. OU didn't extend an offer until March 31 before getting him on campus for the first time for an unofficial visit on April 18. That obviously hasn't hindered the Sooners in their pursuit, though.

Wolfgramm's other offers include Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas State, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oklahoma State and more.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Wolfgramm, listed at 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds, is the No. 33 edge rusher in the 2027 class and No. 4 overall player in the state of Utah. 247Sports by itself is even higher on Wolfgramm as the No. 25 prospect at his position.

Once Wolfgramm really does pledge to the Sooners, he would be the third commit they picked up from their ChampU BBQ recruiting event over the weekend. Three-star running back Jakoby Dixon was the first on Sunday, then four-star cornerback Gabriel Osborne Jr. committed the next day.

And those likely won't be the only three from what was obviously a very successful weekend. Wiltfong mentioned Wolfgramm, four-star safety Bode Sparrow and three-star offensive tackle Corey Laga were all "thinking strongly about being a Sooner" after their visits last weekend.

Those flood of commits would join a No. 1 recruiting class that already has 23 commitments.
