The Oklahoma Sooners came in and wrecked all the plans for those programs wanting 2027 three-star edge rusher Uhila Wolfgramm on their roster one day.

The Sooners just offered Wolfgramm a little over a week ago on March 31, and 247Sports' Collin Kennedy reported on Friday that Wolfgramm already has a visit to OU scheduled for Saturday, April 18, when the Sooners will have their spring game. The Sooners went from not even in the race to the front of the pack almost overnight.

Uhila Wolfgramm visiting Oklahoma after late offer as stock rises

Wolfgramm's recruitment has recently exploded. Just since January, he's picked up offers from OU, Nebraska, Michigan, Arizona State, North Carolina, Iowa State, UCLA, Cal, Minnesota and more. He also already had offers from the likes of Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Arizona, BYU and Utah. Despite the late entry, OU still has the benefit of being Wolfgramm's first SEC offer and only so far.

About two weeks ago, On3 reported that Wolfgramm set six official visits to Arizona State, UCLA, Boise State, North Carolina, Utah and BYU. That usually means recruits have narrowed down their options to that select few, but that was before offers from OU, Nebraska and Michigan. And that list will soon grow even more, forcing Wolfgramm to re-evaluate and crash the party for those who had a headstart in landing him.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Wolfgramm, listed at 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds, is the No. 71 edge rusher in the 2027 class and No. 8 player in the state of Utah out of Maple Mountain High School. Those ratings and rankings will continue to improve, though.

Wolfgramm was a late bloomer after moving to the United States from New Zealand in eighth grade and not playing football until his freshman year of high school. The potential Wolfgramm is already showing is after just three years of playing the sport.

The Sooners already have the No. 1 2027 recruiting class in the country with 20 total commits. That number includes two four-star edge rushers in Taven Epps and Krew Jones.
