As the Oklahoma Sooners were still celebrating punching their ticket to the College Football Playoff with a win against LSU on Saturday night, they also notched another victory on the recruiting trail with a commitment.

Four-star edge rusher Krew Jones on Saturday night committed to the Sooners' 2027 class that's the best in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.

This commitment had been anticipated after multiple expert predictions and Jones even recently using the Sooners' "Hard to Kill" motto in a post sharing highlights that proved he'll fit right in in Brent Venables' system.

Jones chose the Sooners over other offers from Arkansas, BYU, Florida State, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, SMU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, Utah and more.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Jones, listed at 6-foot-4.5 and 233 pounds, is the No. 19 edge rusher in the 2027 class and second-best overall player in the state of Utah out of Ridgeline High School. He's also the No. 149 overall prospect in the country.

This past season as a junior, Jones tallied 80 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks. He also had 93 tackles, 17 TFLs, 12 sacks and six forced fumbles in 13 games last season as a sophomore.

Jones became the eighth commitment to the Sooners' already loaded 2027 class. As of Saturday night after Jones' addition, the group ranked second in the country in Rivals' and 247Sports' team rankings, but No. 1 based on the 247Sports Composite.

Of the eight commitments so far, Jones is rated the fourth-best, according to the 247Sports Composite, and is the top defensive player ahead of cornerbacks Mikhail McCreary and Mikyal Davis.
