The Oklahoma Sooners already gained two new 2027 commits after their ChampU BBQ recruiting event, and they still apparently aren't done reaping the benefits from their first weekend of official visits in Norman.

Rivals' Steve Wiltfong has reported that three big-time targets got even closer to becoming Sooners after their latest trips to Norman, including four-star safety Bode Sparrow, four-star edge-rusher Uhila Wolfgramm and three-star offensive tackle Corey Laga.

Recruiting experts predict Sooners to benefit even more from ChampU BBQ

Sparrow and Wolfgramm have both already been predicted to commit to the Sooners by multiple recruiting experts. At this point, it seems like a matter of when, not if, and that when is starting to feel very soon.

Both Wiltfong and Greg Biggins recently logged expert predictions for the Sooners to get Wolfgramm less than 24 hours after his official visit wrapped up. He still has a trip to in-state BYU scheduled for the weekend of June 19 and visited UCLA just a few weeks ago.

Wolfgramm, though, didn't even gain an offer from the Sooners until March 31, as his recruitment has recently exploded. According to the 247Sports Composite, he's the No. 33 edge-rusher in the 2027 class and No. 4 player in the state of Utah out of Maple Mountain High School.

Laga is also a new target for the Sooners after picking up an offer just last month. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, he's the No. 43 offensive tackle in the country. Laga will still likely make his scheduled visits to Michigan State and Vanderbilt before making a decision.

Sparrow, though, has been on the Sooners' radar for months after they offered him back in September. He's considered the No. 4 athlete in the class, while excelling as both a defensive back and wide receiver, but he's expected to play safety at OU, if that really is where he ends up. That long pursuit has had recruiting experts for months now logging predictions for Sparrow to inevitably commit to the Sooners. He still has visits scheduled to Oregon, Utah and BYU this month.

If the entire trio really does commit to the Sooners, they would give Brent Venables five new additions from the same weekend. And this is only the beginning of official visit season.

Three-star running back Jakoby Dixon was the first weekend visitor to commit. He was the first commitment new running backs coach Deland McCullough landed and replaced Jaxsen Stokes, who flipped from OU to in-state Cal.

Shortly after, four-star cornerback Gabriel Osborne Jr., from nearby Mustang High School, made his decision known. Based on 247Sports' ratings, he immediately became the Sooners' top defensive commitment and made it where OU's top three commits from 2027 hail from the Sooner State.

Those two new additions alone put the Sooners back on top of 247Sports' team recruiting rankings. Now, if the major official visit weekend results in three more additions, Venables and his staff could have used just a few days to solidify their recruiting class as the best in college football.
