Billy Bowman starting

There are former Oklahoma Sooners all throughout NFL training camps right now, and I listed all of them here. The one making the most noise this early, though, has been Atlanta Falcons rookie defensive back Billy Bowman Jr.

Bowman has reportedly earned first-team reps in a nickel corner role early on in training camp. Bowman was just one of two Sooners selected in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft alongside linebacker Danny Stutsman.

RB injury update

Sooner Nation sounded the alarms on Wednesday when it came out that OU had just two running backs available during practice. Jovantae Barnes and Tory Blaylock were the only RBs who participated in the Sooners' sixth day of fall camp.

With seven on the roster at the position, that meant five RBs were unable to practice on Wednesday because of injuries, including new star transfer Jaydn Ott, and standout sophomores Xavier Robinson and Taylor Tatum. According to Rivals' Parker Thune, all injuries were minor, though, and he emphasized how minor they were.

There's definitely reason for Sooner Nation to worry every time injuries come up after last year, but it sounds like this wasn't something OU fans should lose sleep over.

SEC schedule released

There was no awesome video this time, but the SEC schedule for the OU men's basketball team was released on Wednesday. And it's absolutely loaded. The key stat that summarizes how stacked the slate is that all nine SEC opponents coming to Norman made the NCAA Tournament last year and five made it to at least the Sweet 16, including the national champions Florida Gators.

But in case you missed it, here's that incredible video again that the women's basketball team used to reveal its SEC schedule.
