Not one, not two, but three commits in one day for the Oklahoma Sooners. And two came from the state of Alabama in the heart of SEC country.

Four-star safety Jaylen Scott on Saturday became the Sooners' third commitment from the 2027 class within hours of each other during OU's Future Freaks Junior Day. The day started with a pledge from four-star quarterback Jamison Roberts, followed by three-star offensive lineman Tyson Ross. And there are reports hinting that Brent Venables & Co. might still not be finished this weekend as they host their massive recruiting event.

Like Roberts, Scott also hails from Alabama out of Williamson High School in Mobile. Scott and Roberts joined another fellow Bama Sooner in three-star wide receiver commit Tra'Von Hall, who's from Tuscaloosa, home of the Crimson Tide.

Scott and Roberts teaming up in Oklahoma seemed likely, and they made it known they wanted to be teammates on social media. Just last month, Scott posted, "I wanna play together again buddy!!!" while tagging Roberts.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Scott is the highest-ranked Alabama product of the group as the No. 8 overall prospect in the state. He's also the No. 14 safety in the 2027 class and No. 164 overall player.

In late January, Scott narrowed his choices down to five, including OU, Tennessee, Georgia, Miami and Florida State. He took more time this go around after being committed twice before already. Scott originally pledged to Florida State in January 2025. He then flipped to in-state Auburn in June, but after head coach Hugh Freeze was fired during the season, Scott opened his recruitment for a third time in December.

Scott's other offers included Florida, Arkansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and more. Florida had just entered the mix with an offer on Jan. 26, and although the Gators weren't initially among Scott's top options, he had a visit to Gainesville scheduled for May 28. It's unknown if he'll still make that trip.

The Sooners already had the No. 1 2027 recruiting class in the country even before three commits in one day, so now, with 17 total commits, Jim Nagy and his staff are just running up the score. And Nagy has hinted that the recruiting explosion isn't over yet.
