The Oklahoma Sooners got their 2027 quarterback on Saturday with Jamison Roberts, and then added even more assurance that he's well protected once at OU.

Shortly after news broke of Roberts' commitment, Hayes Fawcett of Rivals reported that consensus three-star interior offensive lineman Tyson Ross also joined the Sooners' 2027 recruiting, which was already No. 1 in the country. OU's class was expected to grow this weekend during the Sooners' Future Freaks Junior Day recruiting event.

2027 OL Tyson Ross commits to Oklahoma as Bill Bedenbaugh's 3rd addition

According to the 247Sports Composite, Ross, listed at 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds, is the No. 41 interior offensive lineman in the class. He's also the No. 4 overall prospect in the state of Kansas out of Andover High School.

Although listed as an interior offensive lineman by recruiting outlets, Ross played offensive tackle last season as a junior, proving he has valuable versatility the Sooners can utilize. He also played defensive tackle as a sophomore.

Ross' list of offers also included in-state Kansas State, Kansas, Arkansas, Auburn, Arizona, Arizona State, Iowa State, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Oregon, UCLA and Vanderbilt. He already had official visits on his schedule for this summer to OU and K-State. It would be his third visit to Kansas State, showing a strong interest to play in his home state, but the Sooners did enough to pry him away.

Their offensive line additions have been a massive reason behind the Sooners' No. 1 recruiting class as offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh has landed three commits now. Bedenbaugh's first two commitments came in the same day from Oklahoma products Cooper Hackett and Kaeden Penny, who are both top-50 national prospects based on the 247Sports Composite.

Including those three blocking for him up front, Roberts will be surrounded by talented classmates once he gets to Oklahoma. The Sooners have also already landed commitments from four-star running back Keldrid Ben, four-star wide receiver Demare Dezeurn, three-star running back Jaxsen Stokes and three-star receiver Tra'Von Hall.

And the Sooners' list of 2027 commitments still might not be finished growing for the weekend.
