We can all start referring to Brent Venables as the Thanos of recruiting after this weekend. With Greydon Howell committing to Oklahoma, the Sooners and Venables have now earned five blue-chip commitments in just two days.
Howell, a three-star athlete out of Broken Bow, OK, picked the Sooners over the Oklahoma State Cowboys and a slew of powerhouse programs.
"Knowing that they know what to do with me is going to be amazing," Howell said when committing to play wideout for OU.
Joining the likes of four-star quarterback Jamison Roberts, three-star interior offensive lineman Tyson Ross, four-star safety Jaylen Scott, and four-star tight end Seneca Driver, Howell was the fifth "infinity stone" in Venables' recruiting gauntlet of the weekend.
Greydon Howell becomes 5th Oklahoma commit in 2 days
- Jamison Roberts, four-star quarterback, committed on March 7
- Tyson Ross, three-star offensive lineman, committed on March 7
- Jaylen Scott, four-star safety, committed on March 7
- Seneca Driver, four-star tight end, committed on March 7
- Greydon Howell, three-star athlete, committed on March 8
Of course, these five commitments came just days after Cooper Witten, the son of legendary Tennessee Volunteers and Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten, committed to the Sooners over the Vols, the Texas Longhorns, and more.

Currently, Venables' class of 2027 ranks first in the national standings (yes, 1st) and has blown past the teams that usually outperform Oklahoma in the SEC, including the Horns, the Georgia Bulldogs, and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Venables has been on the recruiting streak of a lifetime and is changing the conversations about his place in Norman, even after the Sooners suffered their first-round loss to the Tide in last season's College Football Playoff.
Now, the Oklahoma head coach is not only ensuring that his team is ready for the upcoming season, but is locking in talent for the Sooners for years to come.
