The Oklahoma Sooners had a loaded 2027 recruiting class that included three wide receiver commits, but within hours, they were all of a sudden down to just one and forced to acquire new targets.

Four-star Demare Dezeurn and three-star Tra'Von Hall both flipped their commitments from OU over the weekend. With Dezeurn staying in his home state at Cal and Hall choosing Ole Miss, the only wide receiver left standing in the Sooner's 2027 class is four-star athlete Greydon Howell, from Broken Bow High School (OK).

The Sooners now have to fill those two vacancies, or at least one, right in the midst of official visit season. As of now, there are no uncommitted 2027 receivers with plans to be in Norman before official visit season ends at the end of the month. OU has until the Early Signing Period in December to really get things settled.

With the Sooners seemingly back to the drawing board at receiver, three targets in particular seem like the best fits for OU to shift its focus to and eventually fill one of those slots.

Kyron Brown

The Sooners were one of the first Power Four programs to believe in Kyron Brown as he continues to attract more interest and rise up recruiting rankings. According to the 247Sports Composite, Brown, listed at 6-foot, is the No. 89 receiver in the class out of Palo Duro High School in Texas.

When OU offered Brown, he was so under the radar that he didn't even have a recruiting profile on 247Sports and ESPN. Now, his list of offers includes Texas, Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Syracuse, Wake Forest and more.

Shortly after the Sooners offered Brown, he visited Norman during OU's spring camp and was blown away. Kansas State and Baylor have since risen to the top of Brown's options with official visits planned, but if the Sooners turned up the heat, they would be the favorite in no time.

Quentin Hale

Quentin Hale, listed at 6-foot-3, has been committed to USC since February, but OU was among his final four options, as well as Texas and LSU. He's a four-star recruit, and according to 247Sports, is the No. 9 prospect at his position and No. 4 player in the state of California out of Corona Centennial High School.

Hale hasn't entertained any other options since his commitment, but with Lincoln Riley on the hot seat, a bad season for the Trojans could force Hale to look elsewhere again. Nothing would be sweeter for OU fans than to not only witness Riley get fired, but also benefit with an elite wide receiver because of his failure.

Brody Knowles

OU was just Brody Knowles' third Power Four offer back in March 2025. His offers now also include Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, TCU, Utah, Virginia Tech and more. He already visited TCU and Arkansas, and still has trips planned to Kentucky and Colorado for official visits.

The Sooners have since backed off their pursuit of Knowles, but they could definitely get back in the race, especially with their relationship with Knowles' school, Southlake Carroll High School in Texas. They already have one commitment from the program in the 2027 class with three-star offensive tackle Luke Wilson. OU receiver Jacob Jordan is also from the same school.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Knowles, listed at 6-foot-5, is the No. 127 receiver in the class as a three-star recruit.
