The Oklahoma Sooners already have 26 commitments in their 2027 recruiting class, but that number could be pushing 30 by the time fireworks are popping at the end of this week.
The end of June means official visit season is over throughout college football, so programs have made their cases and impressed as much as they can with many 2027 prospects now ready to make their decisions before their final high school seasons get going. The Sooners did most of their work early on, but are still in the heat of the battle for three top targets that could soon decide to be a Sooner and join a class that has been ranked in the top 5 of recruiting rankings throughout the cycle.
Barring any flips before the Early Signing Period in December, the Sooners' 2027 class will mostly be settled by Independence Day. Then, news will start coming of 2028 prospects committing to Oklahoma.
Jaiden Fields, ATH
When Jaiden Fields makes his decision is still a mystery, but the who is almost guaranteed to be the Sooners. Multiple recruiting experts over the last few days have logged predictions for Fields to commit to OU. The timing of those predictions coming all at once points to a decision coming sooner than later.
Fields has the ability to play both wide receiver and safety at the FBS level, but he's expected to play safety in Brent Venables' defense. According to the 247Sports Composite, he's the No. 40 athlete in the 2027 class while Rivals has him ranked as high as No. 19. He would follow Bode Sparrow to the class, who's another freak athlete committed to play safety for the Sooners while also also being recruited as a receiver.
Brandon Sherrard, CB
Of this trio of targets, Brandon Sherrard is the least likely to be a Sooner after they entered the race late but still made up a lot of ground.
Despite not offering Sherrard until early May, even after he already had official visits scheduled, the Sooners got Sherrard to campus just a few weeks after the offer for an official visit that replaced a planned trip to Texas A&M. They then crashed his top 3 that also includes Texas and LSU.
Rivals is hosting a "Summer Signing Day" on Wednesday, and Sherrard is the first live announcement scheduled for the day at 11:20 a.m. CT on the Rivals YouTube channel. Right now, Rivals gives the Longhorns the best chance at landing Sherrard, but just at 36.6%.

Sherrard is the No. 18 cornerback in the class as a four-star recruit. This one loss wouldn't be a devastating blow for the Sooners, who already have three corners pledged from the class, including five-star Gabriel Osborne Jr.
Uhila Wolfgramm, EDGE
Uhila Wolfgramm admitted to 247Sports' Blair Angulo after his official visit to Oklahoma back on the last weekend of May that he almost committed to the Sooners right then. Yet, here we are, still waiting for a decision.
Wolfgramm's decision is right around the corner, though. He told Rivals' Greg Biggins that he should announce a decision this week, likely Wednesday or Thursday. He also made it known that he's deciding between Oklahoma and in-state BYU. It could be bad news for the Sooners that BYU was the last visit Wolfgramm made.

Wolfgramm, listed at 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds, is the No. 20 edge rusher in the class, per the 247Sports Composite, after recently surging in recruiting rankings. The Sooners didn't even offer until March 31.
