McNeese transfer Jer'Michael Carter announces top 3 school choices
Carter just visited Norman on Friday during a flurry of visits. He also took trips to Baylor, Vanderbilt, Utah and Tennessee, according to multiple reports.
At 6-foot-4, Carter has the size the Sooners need at receiver and could emerge as a hidden gem from McNeese. He also shouldn't be just a short-term fix as a sophomore with at least two years of eligibility left. Outside of 6-foot-6 Ivan Carreon and 6-foot-5 Jayden Gibson, who was injured all of last season,11 of OU's other 15 receivers are listed right at 6-foot or shorter.
Carter had 37 catches for 537 yards and three touchdowns last season for McNeese. He played in only four games in 2023.

The Sooners have certainly been trying to add a receiver this spring. Most recently, they missed out on BYU transfer Keelan Marion, who committed to Miami on Monday. Marion was an All-American kick returner, as well as a standout receiver.
So far, OU has added four players from the transfer portal this spring, including Stanford offensive lineman Jake Maikkula, Cal running back Jaydn Ott, Utah State defensive tackle Siolaa Lolohea and UTSA kicker Tate Sandell.
The Sooners still need a receiver and tight end, but time and options are running out this spring.
