Jamison Roberts, a four-star quarterback from the 2027 recruiting class, seems destined to be a Sooner as Oklahoma's top target at the position, but other college football programs will still try to sabotage OU's plans.
Roberts on Tuesday announced a new offer from SEC foes Florida Gators after visiting Gainesville that same day as other college football programs try to enter the race for an unknown gem the Sooners helped uncover.

Roberts was a consensus three-star recruit and his only other Power Four offers were from in-state Auburn, Duke, Northwestern and Syracuse when the Sooners offered him in November. Since then, he's recently been upgraded to a four-star product by Rivals and attracted a lot more options as his recruitment has exploded.
Georgia, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Iowa State, Kentucky, Arkansas, Maryland, Iowa, Baylor, Colorado, West Virginia and now Florida have all offered Roberts since OU did. He's already announced a top 8 that included OU, Ole Miss, Auburn, Arkansas, Duke, Northwestern, Iowa and Kentucky.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Roberts, listed at 6-foot-2, is the No. 22 QB in the 2027 class and No. 15 overall player in the state of Alabama out of Saraland High School. His recruiting ratings got a big bump just last week when Rivals' latest update had Jamison debut in the Rivals 300 at No. 250 and jumped him to the No. 18 quarterback in the class.
Roberts' late emergence came after he didn't get a starting job until last season as a junior because he sat behind future Texas quarterback KJ Lacey. In his first season as QB1, Roberts led his team to a 13-1 record while passing for 3,370 yards and 37 touchdowns with five interceptions. He also rushed for 641 yards and 21 scores for 58 total trips to the end zone. That's all that was needed for OU offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle to make him a top priority.
Even with the new flood of interest, though, the Sooners' early offer still looks like it will pay off. Shortly after Roberts announced his Florida offer, Rivals' Steve Wiltfong reported that Roberts told him, “I still think Oklahoma is number one" as many recruiting experts have already predicted Roberts to commit to the Sooners.
