Quarterback

Along with OU’s No. 4 ranking in the AP preseason poll, Sooner fans also got news that coach Lincoln Riley officially announced Alabama Transfer Jalen Hurts (Sr.) as starting quarterback.

Check out an earlier FanSided article I did a while back predicting what Hurts could do in the Sooners Air Raid offense.

Shameless plug aside, I don’t think it’s likely or fair to have expectations for Hurts to put up production similar to Baker Mayfield, or Kyler Murray and win the Heisman Trophy, although, it is still in the realm of possibility.

As of right now, Tanner Mordecai (R-Fr.) is the teams second string QB, with the number one ranked QB in last years recruiting class nationally, freshman Spencer Rattler rounding out the QB core at No. 3 on the depth chart
