Fans can dream.

Oklahoma basketball fans have been growing so impatient to finally read a sentence about head coach Porter Moser getting fired that one of them just did it themself to at least dream for a bit.

Moser's seat has never been hotter during his five seasons at OU as the Sooners are in the midst of an eight-game losing streak and at the bottom of the SEC. After OU's 79-69 loss to Texas at home Saturday, KJRH Channel 2's TJ Eckert pointed out on Sunday that Moser's Wikipedia page, which anyone can make edits to, already described him as "the former head coach of the University of Oklahoma men's basketball team."

OU fans dreaming of Porter Moser getting fired

Moser's Wikipedia page has since been corrected to, unfortunately and accurately, state that he's still the "current head coach of the University of Oklahoma men's basketball team," at least for now until new OU athletic director Roger Denny inevitably fires Moser as his first big move leading the athletic department.

Fans have been wanting Moser to be fired the past two seasons, and some even longer than that. The desire to move on from Moser reached another notch on Saturday after another loss in the Red River Rivalry. The Sooners are 1-8 against Texas under Moser, who started his tenure on a seven-game losing streak against OU's archrival before finally getting a win in the rivalry last season.

This eight-game losing streak is the epitome of every reason why OU fans want Moser gone. After a solid 10-3 start in nonconference play, the Sooners have once again struggled in conference play with a 1-8 SEC record. OU won its SEC opener against Ole Miss, but has lost eight in a row since to drop to 11-11 overall.

Next, the Sooners travel to play a surging Kentucky on Wednesday night before hosting No. 15 Vanderbilt on Saturday. Another two losses this week would tie the longest losing streak in OU men's basketball history at 10 games, so maybe that will be enough for Moser's Wikipedia page to need a real update.
