At one point, the chances of Jaden O'Neal playing quarterback at Oklahoma one day seemed to be 100%, but it seems those odds keep dwindling. And it's hard to blame him.
O'Neal, the Sooners' 2026 quarterback commit, is reportedly scheduled to visit the Florida State Seminoles and Auburn Tigers this week, according to Steve Wiltfong of On3. O'Neal also visited the Georgia Bulldogs last month.

Jaden O'Neal visiting Florida State and Auburn despite Sooners commitment
O'Neal was an early pledge for the Sooners since last June. He's a consensus four-star recruit and every major recruiting service ranks him as a top-15 quarterback prospect in the class. Rivals has him ranked as high as the No. 9 2026 quarterback.
With his long commitment to the Sooners, O'Neal recently transferred to Mustang High School in Oklahoma, away from his home state of California. That move seemed to have all but assured O'Neal sticking with his OU commitment, but he's taken or scheduled three visits to other schools since.
O'Neal's commitment started to waiver after the Sooners began to pursue Bowe Bentley, another four-star quarterback in the 2026 class. Bentley was a late addition to the Sooners' radar and national recruiting rankings, with the 247Sports Composite having him as the No. 10 quarterback in the class after a stellar junior season at Celina High School in Texas.
OU was in the mix of a flood of recent offers to Bentley. He's since narrowed it down to three choices: OU, LSU and Georgia.
Bentley visited Norman last month and will take an official visit on June 13-15. Just a few days after Bentley was at OU, O'Neal visited Georgia.
According to On3, the Sooners are the favorites to land Bentley. That would give OU two quarterbacks from the same class, both competing for reps and NIL money. But that doesn't mean it'll stay a duo.
It's unsure what Brent Venables' and the Sooners' plans are for pursuing two four-star quarterbacks, but it's starting to seem them getting both to Norman is unlikely, and if Bentley makes his commitment to OU, then O'Neal has other viable options.
