With National Signing Day nearing, recruits in the 2025 class are what they are now.
For the last time this cycle, 247Sports and Rivals updated their recruiting rankings for the 2025 class this week, influencing movement for both players and teams. Neither updates shifted the Oklahoma Sooners much, though.
Compared to the evening of Early National Signing Day last month, the Sooners improved one spot from No.16 to No. 15 in 247Sports' overall rankings. OU is 17th in 247Sports' transfer rankings.
For Rivals, the Sooners stayed put at No. 17.
The Sooners are ranked 10th out of 16 teams in the SEC in both rankings. Texas leads the conference and the country with its 2025 class. SEC programs ahead of OU in order are Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M, LSU, Florida Tennessee and Ole Miss.
Finishing outside the top 5 of recruiting rankings was certainly not something the Sooners dealt with in the Big 12. For comparison, OU's 246.36 points for the 2025 class from 247Sports would rank the Sooners No. 1 by a large margin in the Big 12's 2025 rankings. TCU is at the top with 228.54 points.
The Sooners' 2025 class is also smaller compared to most at 18. Brent Venables said this was because of looming roster cuts coming in April. Only Missouri and Vanderbilt have smaller recruiting classes in the SEC.
Five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi is still the headliner of the Sooners' 2025 class. He's the only five-star prospect, along with six four-star recruits, according to 247Sports.
National Signing Day will be Wednesday, Feb. 5, but the Sooners already signed all of their 2025 commits during Early National Signing Day in December. OU also signed 15 players out of the transfer portal.
