During a transfer cycle in which the Oklahoma Sooners needed mostly underrated depth pieces from the portal, they still might have gained their next breakout star with wide receiver Parker Livingstone.

Livingstone transferred to OU from Texas with still three years of eligibility left after the Longhorns seemingly ran him out of Austin to be able to go all in on incoming transfer Cam Coleman from Auburn. The Sooners ultimately beat out College Football Playoff finalist Indiana to get Livingstone to Norman.

Parker Livingstone could be the Sooners' biggest win from the Transfer Portal

Even through multiple offensive coordinators leading the charge, the Sooners had been after Livingstone for a long time. Livingstone included OU among his top choices when he was a four-star recruit out of Lucas, Texas, in 2024 before ultimately choosing his home state Longhorns. Saturday Blitz then ranked Livingstone as the No. 19 receiver available in the portal as a transfer prospect, but this time the Sooners won the recruiting battle.

After redshirting in 2024, Livingstone was third on his team with 29 catches for 516 yards this season as a 19-year-old redshirt freshman. He also had six touchdowns, which was second on the team. He posted two multi-TD games and also surpassed 100 receiving yards twice in an outing.

Even in the small sample size so far, Livingstone has already proven to be a big-time playmaker in the SEC. It was known going in after his high school career that he could pull in incredible catches thanks to his 6-foot-4 length, but Livingstone also quickly showed that he also has the speed to blow the top off secondaries.

Isaiah Sategna III and incoming Virginia transfer Trell Harris will still be the Sooners' speedsters in 2026, but Livingstone could still end up making more plays downfield as that duo instead turns short catches into monster gains. And at 6-foot-4 with his ability, it shouldn't be any surprise if Livingstone not only leads the Sooners in touchdown catches in 2026, but every season he's wearing crimson and cream.
