The Oklahoma Sooners already won the battle for 2027 wide receiver Tra'Von Hall, but apparently they still have to win the war.
Hall committed to the Sooners early on in November, but his recruitment has since taken off, which has led him to weigh all of his options despite his commitment to OU. As Sooners on SI's Carson Field pointed out, 247Sports now has three official visits scheduled for Hall this summer, including to OU, Florida and Ole Miss. And with in-state Alabama recently extending an offer, a trip down the road from Hall could also be in the future, so getting Hall on campus again was vital for the Sooners.

Hall was unrated and unranked by every major recruiting outlet when he committed to the Sooners on Nov. 30. Not even in-state Auburn or Alabama had shown serious interest in Hall before OU's offer despite him being from Tuscaloosa, home of the Crimson Tide.
But after the Sooners saw something early in Hall, everyone else also eventually did as his recruiting ratings and offers exploded. Hall earned three stars and, according to the 247Sports Composite, is the No. 92 wide receiver in the 2027 class and No. 26 overall prospect in the state of Alabama out of Central High School.

Since his pledge to OU, Hall has received new offers from Alabama, Florida, Arkansas and LSU. Ole Miss and Auburn offered a week after the Sooners did.
It's been a busy few months for Hall with recent home visits from Florida head coach Jon Sumrall and wide receivers coach Marcus Davis, and LSU wide receivers coach George McDonald during January as other SEC programs try to swipe the talent from OU. Hall also recently attended Alabama's junior day.
With so many other programs closing in, the Sooners have also made multiple trips to Alabama to visit Hall. OU head coach Brent Venables even made the trip himself with wide receivers coach Emmett Jones.

Hall has also already been to Norman before on an unofficial visit when the Sooners beat LSU to clinch a spot in the College Football Playoff. That's the same weekend Hall committed. Hall will return to Oklahoma on June 12 for his official visit, according to 247Sports. He will be at Florida on May 28 and at Ole Miss on June 5.
The Sooners keeping that last word could be the difference in securing Hall, but if not, OU also has one other receiver committed in four-star Demare Dezeurn. The Sooners are also among the final four options for four-star wide receiver Quentin Hale, who will announce his commitment at 1 p.m. CT Friday. In the end, the Sooners should have plenty of time and options if Hall changes his mind.
