The Oklahoma Sooners' 2027 recruiting class is still a work in progress, but focus has definitely shifted to the 2028 group, and OU will start to really zone in this summer.
So far, the Sooners have handed out nearly 100 reported offers, according to 247Sports, to 2028 prospects after a flurry of them the last few weeks. Most are still early in the recruiting process and a lot will shift throughout the summer, but the Sooners are already frontrunners for a handful that seem destined to wear crimson and cream.
It's an educated guess for the most part, but here's predicting the Sooners' first three additions to their 2028 class.

The Sooners have already been after four-star athlete Kamieon Compton-Nero for a long time as a local prospect, and that early belief should pay off sooner than later.
OU offered Compton-Nero last June after his sophomore year at Rejoice Christian School in Owasso, Oklahoma. He just recently transferred to Owasso High School, though, where he will likely finish out his preps career at a higher level.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Compton-Nero, listed at 6-foot-3, is the top player in the state and No. 59 prospect in the country. He's also the No. 3 athlete in the class as a standout at both safety and quarterback. He stuffed the stat sheet on both sides of the ball last season with 3,335 total yards of offense, as well as 95 tackles and five interceptions, including three returned for a touchdown, on defense.
His other offers include Arkansas, BYU, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Oregon, SMU, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and more.
Compton-Nero has already taken the short trip down the highway for five visits to Norman, which is more than he's visited any other program.

It's already a loaded race for five-star defensive lineman Kellan Hall, but Rivals still has OU with the best chance of landing him at 84.8%. The next highest is Notre Dame at 3.3%. His other offers include Alabama, Tennessee, Ohio State, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Indiana, Georgia, Missouri, Kentucky, Auburn, Michigan, Miami, Nebraska, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Florida State and more.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Hall, already listed at a massive 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds before his junior year, is the No. 17 overall prospect in the class and second-best defensive lineman. He's also the top player in the state of Kentucky out of Christian Academy of Louisville.
Once again, the Sooners should profit from an early investment after being one of Hall's first major offers in January 2025.
Four-star wide receiver David Thomas might be from the heart of Cowboy country in Stillwater, but he's likely a Sooner.
Thomas has already visited Norman four times compared to just one reported visit to hometown Oklahoma State. That much early interest has Rivals giving the Sooners a 70.4% chance of landing Thomas. OSU is second at 17.6%. He also has offers from Arkansas, Tennessee, Kansas State, Purdue and Illinois.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Thomas, listed at 5-foot-11, is the No. 37 wide receiver in the class and No. 2 player in the state behind only the aforementioned Kamieon Compton-Nero. Last season as a sophomore for Stillwater High School, Thomas caught 49 passes for 880 yards and 13 touchdowns.
