The Oklahoma Sooners aren't keeping it a secret that they expect an immediate impact this season from wide receiver Parker Livingstone, who transferred from Texas to OU over the offseason.
ESPN's Billy Tucker on Thursday published an article in which he listed a newcomer from every SEC program that's expected to immediately contribute to their new team and asked someone from within each program about every player, including OU general manager Jim Nagy about Livingstone.
"One of our primary goals this offseason was to add some perimeter playmakers in the passing game for John Mateer, and we feel like getting a proven SEC player like Parker Livingstone and a guy like Trell Harris, who was an All-ACC player last year at Virginia, helped us accomplish that," Nagy told ESPN. "We got a jump on Parker's evaluation last fall doing the advance scouting work for the Red River game, so when he entered the portal he immediately became a top target for us."
Jim Nagy raves about Parker Livingstone as immediate contributor after Texas transfer
Livingstone wised up and crossed the Red River after two years at Texas, where he was roommates with quarterback Arch Manning. After redshirting in 2024, Livingstone broke out as a redshirt freshman last season with 516 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He made five starts while appearing in all 13 games.

Despite the success in his first real season of college football and connection with their QB1, the Longhorns basically ran Livingstone out of town while adding Auburn transfer Cam Coleman. The Sooners capitalized by gaining a much-need endzone threat for quarterback John Mateer.
Livingstone is listed at a towering 6-foot-4 to make a massive target near the end zone, but he also has the speed to blow past secondaries, which was proven with his 17.8 yards a catch last season. According to Tucker, those traits have the Sooners planning to use Livingstone as "the feature complement opposite Isaiah Sategna III," who led OU with 965 receiving yards last year as undersized but speedy wideout.
"Parker is a QB-friendly player who has the size, route craft and toughness to make plays for us outside," Nagy said "Getting a guy that had six touchdowns in the SEC as a redshirt freshman, which isn't easy to do, was a big deal for us."
