Fans were treated to a surprise on Friday when Oklahoma softball announced the full schedule for the 2026 regular season. From Feb. 5 to May 2, the Sooners will play a 53-game slate in the span of three months against 32 opponents in total.

Patty Gasso’s quest for a ninth national championship will open at Arizona State, followed by three invitational events that include the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, and the first three home games at Love’s Field beginning on Feb. 27. After hosting Louisiana and Abilene Christian in the Okana Invitational, the Sooners will play the bulk of the season against a mix of conference and nonconference opponents.

Oklahoma softball announces full 2026 schedule

For the first time since 2021, the Sooners are heading into the season without being the defending Women’s College World Series champion, but Gasso’s dynasty is far from over as the program enters its second season in the SEC.  Reigning national champion Texas is the only team on the upcoming schedule to have beaten Oklahoma last season, so the Sooners have a score to settle as they arrive in Austin on April 10-12.

Among OU’s regular-season opponents, 14 made the NCAA Tournament last season, while nine of those were ranked in the final ESPN NCAA softball Top 25 rankings: Texas, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Georgia, Arizona, LSU, Duke and Oklahoma State. Despite the changes caused by the conference realignment, it’s good to know that Bedlam is still going strong in the Sooner State with the Sooners hosting the Cowgirls late in the season on April 15.

Complete information about game times, tickets and TV broadcasts will be announced at a later date.
