On Wednesday, the SEC unveiled the 24-game schedule for the 2026 softball season. From March 13 to May 2, the Oklahoma Sooners will play a 24-game schedule across eight conference opponents: Auburn, Ole Miss, LSU, Kentucky, Texas, Arkansas, Georgia and Texas A&M.
The layout for the conference consists of eight three-game series against each opponent, with the Sooners playing even halves of their schedule at home and road contests. The conference play at Love’s Field will begin by hosting Auburn and end facing Georgia, with stops on the road to Oxford, Baton Rouge, Austin and College Station as the visiting team.
SEC releases Sooners conference schedule
OU heads into its second season in the conference as the reigning regular-season and tournament champions, which given the caliber of talent would daunt any other program, yet even the transition to realignment wasn’t exactly a smooth ride for the national title eight-timers. Seven losses in last year’s 52-9 record came from SEC foes throughout the regular season, though the Sooners won’t run into them before the postseason starts.
Each of Oklahoma’s opponents are coming into 2026 with a winning record since June 7, with last season’s Women's College World Series competitors Ole Miss and reigning champion Texas in the lineup. The Longhorns are the biggest threat, as they were the only team with more wins than Oklahoma in 2025, so battle for SEC supremacy boils down to the time immemorial arch-rivals.
Two right-handed pitchers, senior Sydney Berzon and sophomore Miali Guachino, played for LSU and Ole Miss, respectively, prior to entering the Transfer Portal. Berzon essentially traded places with senior Paytn Monticelli, while OU lost junior OF Maya Bland to Texas A&M.
While college softball season is a few months away from kicking off, fans can watch the Sooners in action this fall starting Friday, Oct. 3.
