OU's swing game
ESPN on Wednesday named the biggest swing game for every team in the outlet's post-spring top-25 ranking and deemed the Oklahoma Sooners' Week 2 nonconference matchup with the Michigan Wolverines as OU's swing game for 2025. The game already got the primetime 6:30 p.m. CT slot for ABC on Sept. 6.
"The Sooners could build some serious momentum when Michigan comes to town for a prime-time game," ESPN's Chris Low wrote. "A win against the Wolverines would give the Sooners a real chance at a 5-0 start entering the Red River Showdown against Texas on Oct. 6."
ESPN also named the Red River Rivalry as the Texas Longhorns' swing game for the season.
SEC's depth
With ACC and Big Ten Media Days going on this week, there's been a lot of shade thrown at the depth of the SEC.
“The same six schools have won the SEC since 1964. Not a single one is different from 1964. That’s top heavy, that’s not depth," SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee said at ACC Media Days.
Others have also chimed in, whether it was other conference commissioners or talking heads on TV. I wrote about why those takes are not only wrong, but how the Sooners specifically negate those arguments after their first season in the SEC.
Finebaum the hero
Paul Finebaum, totally unprompted, WENT AFTER Lincoln Riley today on the Dari Nowkhah Show.

The viral rant continues to make its rounds on social media, and as it does, Sooner Nation continues to praise Finebaum for his honest statement that's turned him into a hero in Norman.
