There was once a fear the Oklahoma Sooners wouldn’t have a wide receiver in their 2026 recruiting class. Now, after a 6-1 start, it seems the Sooners could eventually have too many commits at the position to know what to do with.

Steve Wiltfong of Rivals and On3 reported that Wisconsin receiver commit Jayden Petit is scheduled to visit OU when the No. 13 Sooners host No. 8 Ole Miss at 11 a.m. CT Saturday in Norman. He also took an official visit to OU on June 6 before ultimately committing to Wisconsin a few weeks later.

A four-star recruit listed at 6-foot-4, Petit is currently the highest-rated commit in Wisconsin’s 2026 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s the No. 39 receiver in the class and No. 32 overall prospect in the state of Florida out of St. John Neumann High School in Naples.

Petit has been committed to Wisconsin since June 26, but as the Badgers’ season has gone in the opposite direction of the Sooners’ and Petit has had a stellar senior season to heat up recruiting, he’s now looking at other possible options.

Based on the 247Sports Composite, if Petit were to flip and join the Sooners, he would also become OU’s top receiver commit and No. 3 overall prospect in the 2026 class. The Sooners also recently hosted Iowa State commit Milan Parris, who's another four-star recruit that could become OU's top receiver.

The Sooners already have three 2026 receivers committed in four-star Daniel Odom, three-star Xavier Okwufulueze and three-star Brayden Allen, who flipped from Tulane. Both Okwufulueze and Allen have committed since the Sooners’ 2025 season kicked off.
