The Oklahoma Sooners have officially went all in on finding their future quarterback from the 2028 class.
The Sooners on Monday offered a pair of quarterbacks from the 2028 class in four-star Trey Tagliaferri and three-star Brady Quinn, who is named after but has no relation to the former Notre Dame QB. OU had also already offered four-star Graham Simpson and has shown a lot of interest in local product Nash Henry, who's a four-star prospect from nearby Norman North High School.
Trey Tagliaferri gets Oklahoma offer as early top target
Based on the 247Sports Composite, Tagliaferri, listed at 6-foot-1, is the best of the bunch as the No. 13 quarterback in the 2028 class and No. 183 overall prospect. Every quarterback in the mix, though, is a top-30 prospect at the position. Tagliaferri is also the No. 9 player in the state of New Jersey as the Sooners went far east to find a signal caller.
Tagliaferri's list of offers has already exceeded 20, including from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Penn State, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and more. Stanford also dished out an offer on the same day as the Sooners. In April, Tagliaferri took visits to Notre Dame, Penn State, Alabama, Ole Miss and Illinois.
Last season as a sophomore for Bergen Catholic High School, Tagliaferri completed 62% of his passes for 2,215 yards and 29 touchdowns with only three interceptions to prove incredible decision-making and accuracy. He's not much of a mobile threat, though, with negative rushing yards last year, which doesn't seem to fit the prototype in offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle's system at OU. Still, he could emerge as Arbuckle's top option at quarterback from the class.

The Sooners' top target at quarterback between the three offered so far and maybe even Henry will soon be clear with official visit season now around the corner at the end of this month and through June. So far, none of the three offered have announced official visit dates to Norman.
