Welp, it's not taking long at all for several Oklahoma softball players to decide their best move is to say goodbye to Norman in the near future. To start things off, utility player Tia Milloy revealed that after two years with the Sooners, she's planning to enter the transfer portal. Since that announcement, two more players have made it known they'll be following suit.
Patty Gasso and Oklahoma gave an SEC power a serious lesson on losing with class
Less than two hours after the Milloy news dropped, Riley Zache and her sister Berkley Zache both confirmed on their Twitter accounts that they plan to play elsewhere next season. We had a feeling there was going to be some transfer news coming in, but three this quickly? Eh, maybe we shouldn't be surprised at that fact:
Both Zache sisters, Berkley and Riley, have entered the transfer portal. South Bend Saint Joseph graduates. https://t.co/jQEdOFF2lE

Riley Zache and Berkley Zache will say goodbye to OU to enter the transfer portal
The Zache sisters made the move to Norman from Saint Joseph's High in South Bend, Ind. In 2025, Riley appeared in nine games during his freshman season. Then in 2026, Riley wasn't on the field for the Sooners, as she decided to take a redshirt year.
As for her sister Berkley, she was a true freshman this past season, tossing 15.1 innings. She impressed while in action for Gasso, tossing 14 strikeouts and recording a 2.28 ERA. Moving forward, it's unclear if the Zache sisters are planning to play together at their next stop.
All in all, these aren't back-breaking transfers for the Sooners and Gasso, as the roster is still looking quite loaded for next season. These transfer calls aren't huge surprises either, but again, the timing of things caught us a bit off guard.
Could some stunning news be on the way in the coming days or weeks? You never know with how the transfer portal works, but Gasso is surely going to be working overtime in trying to retain her key players and remind them what it means to play for the OU program. The loss to Mississippi State shouldn't take away anything from what OU has done in recent years, and what the Sooners will be ready to accomplish in the coming years as well.
With the early postseason exit and missing out on the Women's College World Series for the first time since 2015, the Oklahoma haters are out in full force. Despite that, loyal fans know the future remains bright and Gasso will have this group motivated to bounce back in a big way once the '27 campaign gets here. With that said, we know Milloy, Riley and Berkley won't be part of the plans unless there's a last-minute change of heart.
