You just had a feeling it wouldn't take long for some movement with the Oklahoma roster for Patty Gasso to arrive. On Sunday, the Sooners saw their season end with a heartbreaking loss to Mississippi State. And a little over 24 hours later, the first transfer portal exit was confirmed, with Tia Milloy announcing on her social media that she's leaving Norman.

Patty Gasso and Oklahoma gave an SEC power a serious lesson on losing with class

This move isn't a surprise at all, as with two years of eligibility remaining, Milloy is likely ready to go elsewhere in search of move playing time. However, it shouldn't be ignored that she's got a ton of potential and she'll be ready to make a difference for a new team next season:

Oklahoma softball sophomore Tia Milloy has wasted no time in deciding to transfer

Milloy is a name that Oklahoma fans are quite familiar with, but for those who didn't follow the program too closely, they didn't have much of a chance to see her show off her stuff. This past season, Milloy recorded just 34 at-bats, and she was seen during the postseason more as a pinch-runner instead of someone ready to make an impact while at the dish.

She sure took advantage of her limited opportunities with a bat in her hands, though, as she hit .353, with four homers to her name and 22 RBI. In total, we saw Milloy in 41 appearances in 2026, including the season-ending loss to Mississippi State at Love's Field - she came on as a pinch-runner in the middle of the action.

Milloy and her teammates were hoping to make a huge splash and push for yet another Oklahoma WCWS title, but Samantha Ricketts and the Bulldogs had other ideas, posting a stunning, but convincing win in Game 3. Gasso was in tears after the loss, but she gave full credit to the Bulldogs and Ricketts for what they were able to get done.

It's a loss that's going to sting all offseason for Oklahoma, as the Sooners were hoping to reach their 10th consecutive Women's College World Series. The hits on the program have continued with Milloy saying goodbye, but again, this isn't a decision that people are going to be stunned over. She surely has what it takes to be a stud talent for a squad in 2027 and beyond, but we know for sure it won't be with Gasso and the Sooners.
