Oklahoma redshirt freshman Jacolb Fredson-Cole is reportedly entering the transfer portal after two years with the Sooners, according to OU Insider.
The transfer portal just opened on Monday for college basketball players, and the Sooners have already lost three players within 24 hours, and all have been forwards. Luke Northweather and Yaya Keita were the first to do so on Monday.
After redshirting his first year on campus, Fredson-Cole, a 6-foot-7 forward, appeared in 15 games this season. He played a season-high 16 minutes against Stetson early in the season and didn't see the court at all after OU's blowout loss to Florida on Feb. 18.
In those 15 games, Fredson-Cole totaled 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Fredson-Cole got to OU as a four-star recruit, according to ESPN and Rivals, from Bellaire, Texas. He finished his high school career at Link Academy.
None of OU's portal losses so far were major contributors, but the Sooners are losing their entire starting lineup because of eligibility and star freshman Jeremiah Fears likely headed to the NBA Draft as a projected lottery pick.
Between graduating seniors, portal losses and the NBA Draft, OU will lose at least 12 players from this season's roster. That number will only grow the longer the portal is open, especially if head coach Porter Moser heads elsewhere.
No matter who's in charge next year, size and depth down low will be the Sooners' biggest needs from the transfer portal, especially after losing a trio forwards that could have provided that depth next season in the physical SEC.
