Oklahoma head coach Jennie Baranczyk just added another former five-star recruit to her 2026-27 roster that could solve one of the Sooners' biggest problems.
Jordan Speiser announced via Instagram on Tuesday that she committed to the Sooners out of the Transfer Portal after one year at Kansas State. Speiser was OU's second transfer commit this cycle after fellow freshman guard Keeley Parks on Monday. Both were five-star recruits in the 2025 class.
Jordan Speiser commits to Sooners as the sharpshooter they needed
The Sooners were desperate for a three-point shooter on their roster. They were tied for 14th of 16 SEC teams with an abysmal 29% team three-point percentage this past season, which was proof of a problem that had to be fixed for OU to get past the Sweet 16 next season. Speiser could now be that answer.
Speiser appeared in 40 games and made three starts as a freshman this season for Kansas State while averaging 9.6 points and 3.2 rebounds. She also shot 35.3% from three-point range while making 73, which was second on the team.
She really stepped up when it mattered most in the Big 12 Tournament. Speiser broke the school record for most three-pointers in a conference tournament with 16 in four games, which was also second-most in Big 12 history. She shot 48.5% from deep, which was the second-best a K-State player has ever shot in the tournament. Speiser was ultimately named to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team after averaging 15.8 points.
Speiser got to K-State as a top-20 prospect from Warrenton, Missouri, and was considered one of the best shooters the 2025 class had to offer. She was also selected to play in the 2025 McDonald’s All-American Game.
So far, the Sooners have added Speiser and Parks from the Transfer Portal while losing only sophomore guard Zya Vann, who left another hole in the starting lineup. Parks is from Norman and spent a year at Kansas before returning home. Both not only benefit the Sooners immediately, but with three years of eligibility left and incredible potential, could become pillars for the future alongside star point guard Aaliyah Chavez, who was the No. 1 player in that 2025 class.
