The Oklahoma Sooners aren't fully healthy heading into Week 2 of the 2025 college football season, but they're at least healthier than they were when the season kicked off last week.
The No. 18 Sooners need to be as close to full strength as possible when they play the No. 15 Michigan Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. The only game of Week 2 between two ranked teams will be in the primetime slot on ABC.
Oklahoma vs. Michigan injury report
The Sooners will still be without some of the same players as last week against Illinois State, including cornerback Eli Bowen, cheetah/cornerback Kendel Dolby and wide receiver Javonnie Gibson. All three will likely be in the starting lineup once they return.
However, on a positive note, Colton Sulley of The Oklahoman reported that Dolby was suited up during pregame warmups.
George Stoia of SoonerScoop also said during a pregame appearance on The Sports Animal that he doesn't expect offensive tackle Jacob Sexton to play after getting injured last week. Sexton started at left tackle last week before getting hurt just six plays into the season opener.
Offensive lineman Owen Hollenbeck was also not suited up pregame.
However, the Sooners will be getting more reinforcements on the offensive line. OU head coach Brent Venables said earlier this week that he expects offensive tackles Michael Fasusi and Derek Simmons to play against Michigan after both missed last week because of injuries.
"We had some guys that we held out,” Venables said then . “(Fasusi will) be back this week as long as everything checks out, along with Derek Simmons, he’ll be back. And hopefully Jacob Sexton will be able to power through what he’s going through as well to get back.”
It will be their OU debuts for both. Fasusi could start in his college debut after being the highest-rated prospect in the Sooners' 2025 signing class. Simmons transferred from Western Carolina this offseason. Both worked with the first-team during pregame.
The Sooners' backfield also looks to be healthier. Cal transfer Jaydn Ott was still banged up and had an odd OU debut last week with just one carry for a three-yard loss, but Venables said this week we're "going to see a lot more of (Ott)." Ott had missed over two weeks of fall camp. Josh Callaway of 247Sports also added that Ott wasn't wearing a brace pregame like he was last week.
All signs also point to freshman running Tory Blaylock, who broke out in his debut, being available against Michigan after leaving last week's game in the the third quarter with an apparent shoulder injury. Blaylock was fully dressed during pregame with a brace on his right shoulder.
Tulsa World's Mason Young also reported that running back Taylor Tatum, who sat out last week, will be available after going through pregame warmups.
And injury woes aren't just one-sided. Michigan will still be without standout safety Rod Moore, who hasn't played since the national championship game two seasons ago because of a torn ACL. He was questionable for this game earlier in the week.
This post will be updated as more injury news comes out during pregame before Oklahoma vs. Michigan.
