Oklahoma freshman running back Tory Blaylock impressed Sooner Nation last week in his college debut, but fans have been concerned ever since his first game was cut short because of a shoulder injury.
Although there haven’t been any official updates from OU and rumors have swirled that Blaylock could miss several weeks with the injury, all signs point toward Blaylock being available when the No. 18 Sooners play the No. 15 Michigan Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday inside Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. The game will be in the primetime slot on ABC.
Tory Blaylock injury update
Brent Venables did not give any injury updates this week, but he also did not signify he was worried about Blaylock’s availability. Venables also didn't have any concerns about Blaylock after the game last week.
Saturday morning, Blaylock’s father, Derrick, a former NFL running back, shared the same post on X that he always has before both of his sons' games, insinuating that his son was ready to go. The entire post was dedicated to Blaylock playing that day against Michigan. This seems to confirm Blaylock’s status from someone who should know best.

Last week, Blaylock led the Sooners with 44 rushing yards and eight careers in his first college action against Illinois State. He also scored a five-yard touchdown just before the first half ended.
The Sooners’ backfield is nearing complete with Jaydn Ott also supposed to be 100% after getting just one carry for a three-yard loss last week. OU will still be without Taylor Tatum, but also have Jovantae Barnes and Xavier Robinson to complement Ott and Blaylock.
