At last, 2027 four-star cornerback Juju Johnson should finally make it known that he'll be an Oklahoma Sooner.
For the second time during his recruitment process, Johnson has set an announcement date and a new top 5, with Rivals' Greg Biggins reporting this week that Johnson will announce his decision on June 27 after narrowing his options between Oklahoma, Michigan, Miami, and in-state programs UCLA and Cal. For months now already, multiple recruiting experts have had Johnson predicted to commit to OU.
Juju Johnson sets 2nd commitment date with Sooners leading the way
This is the second time Johnson has set an announcement date and revealed a top 5. He first set his date as Dec. 1 with a group of finalists that included OU, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon and Arizona State. The Sooners and Wolverines are the only two programs to be in the mix both times.
His other offers included the likes of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, USC, Utah and more.
There's still a lot to happen between now and Johnson's second date of June 27, though, as he has four visits lined up before then. He will take official visits to Miami (May 29), Nebraska (June 5), Oklahoma (June 12) and UCLA (June 19). Johnson was also in Norman just last month and visited during the season.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Johnson is the No. 8 cornerback in the 2027 class and top-100 overall prospect at No. 68. Johnson, from Long Beach, is also the No. 7 player in the state of California, where the Sooners have been recruiting hard recently.
Johnson would be the third cornerback added to the Sooners' 2027 class after four-star Mikhail McCreary and three-star Mikyal Davis. He would be the highest-rated prospect of the trio. He would also be the fifth Californian in 2027 to further the pipeline to Norman from the Golden State.
