When they say the rich get richer, that's certainly the case for the Oklahoma Sooners while stockpiling talent from the 2027 class.
Mikyal Davis, a three-star cornerback in the 2027 class, announced via X on Tuesday his commitment to the Sooners after recently narrowing down his options to a list of six that was full of college football blue bloods.

Last month, Davis announced a top-6 that included OU, Alabama, Texas, USC, Ohio State and Washington. He also held offers from Florida State, Indiana, Kansas State, Miami, Missouri, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and more before ultimately pledging to the Sooners.
Davis was just in Norman for a visit on Oct. 25, when the Sooners lost to Ole Miss. It was a foreshadow of his future decision, because it's the only visit Davis has posted about on social media during this football season.
Had a great visit at @OU_Football !

Thank you @CoachVenables @JayValai @COACHSTACE_ and the entire staff for having me pic.twitter.com/tXOhjMamvv
Listed at 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, Davis is the No. 41 cornerback in the 2027 class and No. 8 overall prospect in the state of Arizona out of Desert Edge High School. Rivals ranks Davis as the No. 39 cornerback in the class.
Although the Sooners have been loading up 2027 commits already, Davis was just the second defensive player to pledge from the class, and both defenders are cornerbacks who will play for Jay Valai in Brent Venables' system. Four-star recruit Mikhail McCreary committed to OU on Sept. 29 and is the No. 24 CB in the class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
As of Tuesday after Davis' addition, the Sooners had the No. 2 2027 recruiting class in the country with seven commitments so far, according to the 247Sports Composite. OU just recently lost the top spot in the recruiting rankings to Texas A&M. The Sooners are second behind Texas Tech in Rivals' team rankings.
