New Oklahoma football general manager Jim Nagy has been adding to the Sooners' roster this spring, as well as to his own staff.
Will Parkinson, an NFL podcast host, reported Monday that OU hired Charlie Parkinson to be assistant director of college scouting on Nagy's growing front office staff. Nagy seemingly confirmed the news by replying to Parkinson's post with "BREAKING:."

Sooners GM hires Charlie Parkinson
Charlie Parkinson had previously worked with Nagy at the Senior Bowl, where Nagy was executive director before becoming OU's GM. Parkinson was a scouting assistant for the Senior Bowl under Nagy for less than a year.
Before working at the Senior Bowl, Parkinson was a recruiting and player personnel assistant at Wake Forest for a season. He was also at The 33rd Team, a website with NFL analysis that includes current and former coaches, players and executives. Parkinson was there for three years. The likes of Jay Gruden, Chuck Pagano, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Ronde Barber currently work at The 33rd Team.
Parkinson is still incredibly young, having just finished his college football career at Amherst College in 2023. That means he started at The 33rd Team while still playing college football. After graduation, he was also a recruiting assistant for Amherst College.
Nagy has now added three to his staff since being named GM in February. First, he hired former NFL scout Taylor Redd as assistant GM. He then added Oklahoma native and former Air Force quarterback Kale Pearson as director of high school scouting.
Even at his introductory press conference, Nagy said his staff would grow and he had plans to add people with NFL experience, as well as college.
