The Oklahoma Sooners' recent offers to recruits extend all the way to the west coast and the east coast and all over between, but they can't lose sight of what's in their own backyard.

Norman North High School, just down the road from Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, has produced two elite prospects for the next two signing classes, and the Sooners need to assure they never make a home passing connection anywhere other than their hometown.

Norman North High School's Ben Kolar and Nash Henry need to be top priorities for Oklahoma

The Sooners have recently hosted both local products from Norman North High School in 2027 three-star tight end Ben Kolar and 2028 four-star quarterback Nash Henry. Kolar has OU high on his list thanks to new tight ends coach Jason Witten, and the interest is mutual, but Henry is still waiting on his offer from OU that should come sooner than later so the Sooners don't miss on a talent that is already within reach.

Last season, Kolar, listed at 6-foot-3, caught 44 passes from Henry for 622 yards and eight touchdowns. According to the 247Sports Composite, he's the No. 26 tight end in the 2027 class with offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Illinois, Miami, Michigan, Ole Miss, Penn State, SMU, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Utah, Vanderbilt and more.

The Sooners already missed out on both of Kolar's older brother who were also Division-I athletes from Norman North High School. The oldest, John, a quarterback, wouldn't have seen the field at OU and ended up at Oklahoma State before transferring to Iowa State to join his brother, Charlie. Charlie, though, didn't even get an OU offer before going to Iowa State, where he was a star, and is now with the Los Angeles Chargers.

This time, the Sooners finally offered someone from the Kolar family, but they can't let the same thing happen to Henry that happened with Charlie Kolar.

The Sooners have offered three 2028 quarterbacks so far, including two on the same day on Monday, but Henry still hasn't gotten his opportunity yet from his hometown team. He's already visited OU four times, as well as Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Baylor, Cal and more.

Despite the hesitation, the Sooners could still be Henry's first FBS ever after recently exploding onto the recruiting scene. He was unrated and unranked just last month, but all of a sudden, Henry, listed at 6-foot-3, is now a consensus four-star prospect and the No. 24 QB in the 2028 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

The Sooners can't let another program reap from what their own town produced.
