We hate to beat a dead horse here, but Oklahoma Sooners fans out there remain pretty darn upset with commissioner Greg Sankey. On Saturday, the unforgivable decision was made to cancel the SEC Softball Tournament title game.

With that more than questionable call being made, Oklahoma and Texas A&M were named co-champs for the tourney. People felt like the Sooners were robbed of pushing for the conference title, which Patty Gasso and Co. were feeling pretty confident about.

On Sunday, things were made worse with the Sooners not landing the No. 1 overall seed for the NCAA Softball Championship. Instead, the Aggies were given the honor. That decision has folks even more upset with Sankey for not having a contingency plan in place.

Oklahoma softball not taking home the No. 1 overall seed was a joke

With the greatest of respect for the Aggies and what Trisha Ford has been able to get done this campaign, how is Oklahoma not the 1-seed? The program has won the natty four years in a row, now looking to get the job done for an unreal fifth consecutive campaign.

The debate as to who should have been given the No. 1 overall seed is going to continue for a long time. With that said, things 100 percent should have been settled on the field before the Selection Sunday show took place. We understand there was inclement weather, but where were Sankey and Co. with a backup plan?

A conference tournament should never come to an end with two champions. This is why we play the game. The Sooners and Aggies have every right to have a beef with the SEC for having them split the title. Not only that, but Oklahoma supporters are going to be ticked off for quite some time that the Sooners weren't given the top spot. All will be forgotten if OU wins the title again, as this certainly should serve as some bulletin-board material.
