After a tune-up series against Lehigh opening weekend, the Oklahoma Sooners will head south for their first tests of the 2025 season.
The Sooners will compete in the Round Rock Classic this weekend at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers' Triple-A affiliate, the Round Rock Express. The event is an annual four-team festival that this season features three teams included in a set of rankings.
Along with the Sooners, the field includes No. 2 Virginia, No. 7 Oregon State and Minnesota, according to DIBaseball.com rankings. OU is ranked 20th in Perfect Games's rankings and No. 25 in the USA Today Baseball Coaches Poll.
OU started its season with a sweep of Lehigh last weekend that included two run-rule victories. The Sooners were schedule to play University of Texas-Arlington on Wednesday, but the game was cancelled because of the weather in Oklahoma.
The Sooners will start this weekend against Minnesota on Friday before getting two top-10 teams on back-to-back days. OU will play Oregon State on Saturday, then Virginia on Sunday.
Here's OU's full schedule for the Round Rock Classic and how to watch each game.
Minnesota is at the bottom of the barrell of this bunch. The Golden Gophers are the only unranked team in the Round Rock Classic and started the season 1-2 after losing their opening series to Houston.
Oregon State started its season with an undefeated weekend in Surprise, Arizona, at the College Baseball Classic. The Beavers beat Xavier, UNLV, Indiana and Xavier again during the trip. OSU outscored opponents 48-9 with two shutouts in the four games.
Despite already suffering a loss, Virginia is still the No. 2 team in the country. The Cavaliers competed in the Puerto Rico Challenge last weekend, and after losing their season opener to Michigan in 11 innings, they beat Villanova and Rice.
