For the first time in the 2025 baseball and softball seasons, we have schedule changes because of Mother Nature.

Snow and extremely cold temperatures have covered the state of Oklahoma, forcing the Oklahoma Sooners to make some changes to their baseball and softball schedules this week.

The OU baseball team's mid-week game against University of Texas-Arlington on Wednesday was postponed and there are plans to reschedule it to a later date, according to OU's press release about the postponement.

The Sooners were originally scheduled to play UTA inside Globe Life Field at Arlington, Texas, but the weather likely caused travel issues.

OU is still planning to compete in the Round Rock Classic this weekend in Texas. The Sooners are scheduled to play Minnesota on Friday, No. 7 Oregon State on Saturday and No. 2 Virginia on Sunday.

The Sooners started their season last weekend with a sweep against Lehigh in Norman.

Meanwhile, OU softball is in its third week of the season and still undefeated at 10-0 after trips to California opening weekend and to Waco, Texas, for the Getterman Classic last week.

The Sooners are supposed to play at Love's Field for the first time this season when hosting the Norman Tournament this week. The entire tournament schedule was pushed back because of the weather.

OU will now start things at 12 p.m. Saturday against Abilene Christian, then play Bowling Green at 2:30 p.m. The Sooners will have another doubleheader on Sunday with Wichita State and Tulsa.

The schedule change forced the tournament to last until Monday, with OU playing Abilene Christian again to finish the Norman Tournament.
