The Oklahoma Sooners are out of options when it comes to 2026 wide receiver targets, so now they're forced to create opportunity.

The Sooners are reportedly trying to flip Tulane commit Brayden Allen, according to Rivals' Steve Wiltfong on Wednesday.

OU already had its back against the wall, but was forced to break the glass after four-star WR Davian Groce chose Florida over the Sooners in the final moments on Monday. Groce seemed to be a lock to be a Sooner until the Gators grasped him on the day he was set to make his decision.

Groce would had been the Sooners' second WR addition to their 2026 class after four-star Daniel Odom. There was also worry OU could lose Odom, but he recently reassured his pledge and shut down his recruitment.

Groce, though, was the Sooners' final major lifeline to land. With Groce's decision, OU was left with just three offered receivers that haven't made a decision yet, according to On3 and Rivals' offer list. Two are three-star prospects and one is unrated, based on On3 and Rivals. Odom was a four-star and top-10 prospect at his position.

Allen doesn't have a reported offer from OU yet. His offer list includes Ole Miss, Colorado, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Boston College and other Group of Five offers. Allen committed to Tulane on July 16, but has picked up his Ole Miss and Colorado offers since.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Allen, a three-star recruit listed at 6-foot-1, is the No. 132 WR in the 2026 class. He's also the No. 27 player in Louisiana out of Lafayette Christian Academy.

Flipping committed prospects is now OU's only option to add worthy receivers to its next signing class. If not, the Sooners will have to throw all of their chips into the Transfer Portal.
