There's no Oklahoma Sooners football this week, but it might be perfecting timing with quarterback John Mateer's injury and a loaded college football slate for fans to enjoy.
After a lackluster Saturday of games last week that was highlighted by the Sooners' 24-17 win over Auburn, Week 5 should make up for it with four ranked vs. ranked matchups, including two from the SEC.
With no Sooners to watch, here's a guide to what to tune into instead throughout Saturday, and use a free trial to fuboTV to watch Week 5 of the college football season.
No. 21 USC at No. 23 Illinois
When: 11 a.m. CT
Watch: FOX
If you're an OU fan into hate watching, this is the game for you. Lincoln Riley's USC is 4-0, but this trip to Illinois is its toughest test yet.
Auburn at No. 9 Texas A&M
When: 2:30 p.m. CT
Watch: ESPN
The 2:30 p.m. slot is absolutely loaded, and although there might be better games on at this time, this will probably be the most enjoyable to watch for OU fans. Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze and even the Tigers' athletic director have done nothing but whine since losing to the Sooners, and Freeze even took a shot at OU saying Texas A&M is better. However, considering how much he's complained this week, Freeze might not have his team prepared for this one.
No. 4 LSU at No. 13 Ole Miss
When: 2:30 p.m. CT
Watch: ABC
If Auburn-Texas A&M gets ugly, LSU taking on Ole Miss could go down to the wire. Not only is it an SEC matchup between two teams on OU's schedule, but apparently Ole Miss is the Sooners' new conference rival to hate watch.
Baylor at Oklahoma State
When: 2:30 p.m. CT
Watch: ESPN2
This game is just meant to turn on at the very start to witness some state history. This will be Oklahoma State's first game in 21 years without Mike Gundy as its head coach after he was fired this week. Baylor is a 20.5-point favorite in Stillwater, though, so this will get out of hand quick for a team that's already thrown in the towel.
No. 17 Alabama at No. 5 Georgia
When: 6:30 p.m. CT
Watch: ABC
There are two massive games in primetime, but this one directly effects the Sooners the most as a top-25 SEC clash. Georgia isn't on the Sooners' schedule unless they meet in the SEC Championship Game, but OU will travel to Alabama on Nov. 15.
No. 6 Oregon at No. 3 Penn State
When: 6:30 p.m. CT
Watch: NBC
Although there are no conference ties, this is really the game of the week with the most national implications. Oregon hasn't missed a beat even after replacing quarterback Dillon Gabriel, and Penn State head coach James Franklin still has to prove he can win a big game.
