Apparently Auburn athletic director John Cohen or head coach Hugh Freeze or anyone over there at Toomer’s Corner has never watched Disney’s “Frozen,” because they cannot let it go.

Five days after losing to the Oklahoma Sooners 24-17, and just two days before playing No. 9 Texas A&M on the road, the Tigers are still hung up on one play as Cohen released a statement Thursday evening to complain about officiating that has Auburn as the laughing stock of college football right now.

Auburn athletic director John Cohen releases statement about controversial officiating

One play stole the headlines of the top-25 meeting between Oklahoma and Auburn on Saturday. OU wide receiver Isaiah Sategna was left wide open for a 24-yard touchdown with 10:45 left in the second quarter after lining up near the sideline.

The ABC broadcast crew ranted how the play was illegal based on a poorly written rule and Auburn fans accused the Sooners of cheating. To make matters worse, the SEC released a statement later that night and stirred up even more drama by stating the play was illegal. However, OU's staff said it cleared the play before the game and everything transpired right in front of the line judge, who confirmed to Sategna he was lined up correctly.

Ever since, Freeze has whined about officiating every time he's been in front of a mic and even claimed SEC commissioner Greg Sankey apologized about what happened. Auburn fans also continue to clamor that the Sooners cheated. All while they prepare for a top-10 conference opponent on the road, and Freeze even admitted early in the week that he hadn't watched as much film because he was sidetracked by other things.

It's worth noting, though, that the play occurred with 10:45 left in the second quarter. Auburn also gave up a record-tying nine sacks and had multiple opportunities to win the game at the end, but instead gave up a game-winning touchdown before quarterback Jackson Arnold got sacked in the end zone when the Tigers got their turn to try to win the game.

Obviously OU fans got tired of this commotion quickly, but now most college fans and even some of the Tigers' own faithful are getting worn down by Auburn dragging this loss out, with Thursday's statement being a new low.
