Joe Mixon is back among the NFL greats.
Mixon, starting his second season as the Houston Texans' running back, came in at No. 58 in the NFL Top 100 after being left off the top players list the past two years.

Mixon back in NFL Top 100 with Houston Texans
Mixon found new life last year in his first season with the Texans after spending the first seven years of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals. Mixon made his second Pro Bowl after rushing for 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2024. He made his first Pro Bowl in 2021, the same year he was last included on the NFL Top 100.
In his third year with the Oklahoma Sooners, Mixon broke out as a redshirt sophomore in 2016 and earned First-Team All-Big 12 honors after running for 1,274 yards and 10 TDs while sharing a backfield with Baker Mayfield. That campaign propelled Mixon to be a second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Although cracking the NFL Top 100 is certainly good news, it's been mostly bad news so far for Mixon this offseason. Mixon injured his ankle during the offseason and NFL Network recently reported that Mixon is likely to miss all of the preseason and maybe even the Texans' season opener.
Mixon was the second former Sooner on the NFL Top 100 so far as the list will continue to be unveiled until Sunday, Sept. 1, with the No. 1 player. Kansas City Chiefs center Creed Humphrey made his debut on the list at No. 93. They shouldn't be the only Sooners on the list, though.
