Former Oklahoma softball player Jayda Coleman finished her first season in the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) as a member of the Utah Talons at the 2026 Championship Series in College Station, Texas on Sunday.
After a rematch of the 2025 inaugural championship, the Talons defeated the Chicago Bandits in both games, 2-1 on Saturday and 6-1 on Sunday. Coleman batted two hits and scored the opening run of the finale as she became the second OU graduate since Sydney Romero to win the AUSL postseason with the defending champions.

Jayda Coleman wins AUSL championship with Utah Talons
Coleman entered the AUSL this summer after she was selected by the Talons in the first round of the 2026 Allocation Draft, appearing in 18 games with a .320 batting average, nine runs, 16 hits, two home runs and eight RBI.
The NFCA All-American was a member of the Sooners for each of the four consecutive national championships from 2021-24. A month after her last Women’s College World Series appearance, Coleman started playing professional softball on the Oklahoma City Spark, which won the AFP championship that year and the independent postseason tournament in 2025 before joining the AUSL for the most recent season.
Oklahoma was represented by 11 former players across all six teams in the league, which was the second highest for a program after UCLA with 12.

Coleman will be among the eight OU alumni participating in the AUSL All-Star Cup from Aug. 8-30 in Rosemont, Illinois. She and former Oklahoma teammates Alyssa Brito, Tiare Jennings and Kelly Maxwell are also representing Team USA, coached by Patty Gasso, in the World Baseball Softball Confederation International Cup at Devon Park in Oklahoma City this weekend and Group C of the WBSC World Cup on Sept. 12-16.
