Catcher Jimmy Crooks

Crooks was an anchor for the Sooners behind the plate, and also demonstrated some power from the left side. Scouts love catchers that have pop from the left side, and that’s why Crooks will get his name called.

The Eluless, Texas, native finished the season with a .305 BA, and hitting 9 homers with 51 RBI. Four of those nine home runs came in the postseason run. In the MCWS, Crooks bolted 5 hits and 6 RBI, along with a pair of home runs in two games against Texas A&M.

According to ProspectsLive, Crooks is listed as the 10th best catcher in the MLB Draft. One of the top prospects in the 2022 Big 12 preseason has lived up to the hype and played a key part in the Sooners remarkable postseason run.
