Sophomore pitcher Jake Bennett

“Big Jake” was the main arm for the Sooners throughout the season, and the left-handed starter had impressive outings in the postseason. In the first game in the Gainesville Regional, Bennett posted 5.2 innings pitched, and allowed only three earned runs in a 16-3 win. He also closed the door against Florida in the winner-take-all Game 3 to send the Sooners to the Super Regional round.

Once again, Bennett had another great outing in Game 1 in the Blacksburg Super Regional vs. Virginia Tech. The big lefty went seven innings, allowing four runs, and striking out eight Hokies in the Sooners 11-2 win.

Bennett got the ball for Game 1 in the MCWS, and he answered the bell. The 6-foot, 6-inch southpaw went six innings and gave up four earned runs while striking out three in the Sooners’ Game 1 win.

Along with Horton, Bennett was also a guy who improved his draft stock, with the dominant postseason performances. Bennett was a D1Baseball Second-Team All-American.

Projection: Early 3rd Round
