Oklahoma football: Ranking the Sooners quarterbacks since 2000
1. Baker Mayfield 2015-17
Mayfield owns a ton of records as the Sooners quarterback including touchdowns in a game (seven), completion percentage in a season (70.9), passing yards in a game (598) and completion percentage in a career (69.8 – tied with Kyler Murray), but it is intangibles that put him atop this list.
Mayfield came along when the Sooners had lost their sense of identity and was instermental in returning a swagger back to the program. Whether it was a gritty comeback win over Tennessee in his second start, flattening an OSU defender on a block or a game-winning touchdown throw against Texas, Mayfield made it clear to his teammates they would never be out of the game as long as he was around.

In his three years as a starter Mayfield was a Heisman finalist every season and finally won it his senior year. He led the Sooners to three-straight Big 12 titles, two College Football Playoff appearances and never lost a road game during his time as the starting quarterback.
Mayfield had a lasting effect on the attitude of the Oklahoma football program that can still be felt today and set the standard for what a Sooner quarterback should be.
