It is a busy weekend for former Oklahoma football stars participating in the NFL Scouting Combine being held at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts.
The Oklahoma football program is well represented as this years NFL Combine, with six former Sooners receiving invites.
Running back/fullback Dimitri Flowers and offensive lineman Orlando Brown are undergoing on-the-field workouts as part of Friday’s schedule. Meanwhile Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield and other quarterback prospects, along with teammate and All-America tight end Mark Andrews are taking part in psychological testing, an NFL Players Association meeting, media interviews and team interviews.
One other pro prospect from OU who is expected to go in the first several rounds in next month’s NFL Draft is linebacker Ogbonnia Okoronkwo. Okoronkwo’s Friday schedule includes measurements, a medical exam and team interviews.

According to a report today in the Oklahoma City Oklahoman, Brown ran the 40-yard dash in an unofficial time of 5.85 seconds. Brooke Pryor, an OU beat writer for the Oklahoman, reported that Brown’s time was the fifth slowest at the Combine for an offensive tackle since 2003.
Mayfield made a bold prediction in his media session on Friday, the Oklahoman reported. The former Sooner quarterback told members of the media covering the Combine activities, “If anyone is going to turn around the Cleveland Browns, it’s going to be me.”
Of course, that assumes Cleveland would select Mayfield with the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft. His prediction is probably safe, because it is highly unlikely Mayfield will be the No. 1 pick.
Ourlads NFL Scouting Services, affiliated with USA Today Sports Digital Properties, rates Brown as the top offensive tackle prospect in the NFL Draft. NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock ranked Brown as the No. 2 prospect at that position.
In addition to having Brown as the top NFL prospect at his position, Ourlads also has Mayfield as the top QB prospect, Andrews as the No. 2 tight end and Okoronkwo as the No. 6 outside linebacker prospect.
Cornerback Jordan Thomas was also invited to participate at the Combine. He is expected to arrive in Indianapolis on Friday and is scheduled for registration, a hospital pre-exam, X-rays, orientation and team interviews.
