Oklahoma All-Big 12 First-Team selections included quarterback Baker Mayfield, wide receivers Dede Westbrook and Mark Andrews , running back Joe Mixon, offensive tackle Orlando Brown, linebacker Jordan Evans and cornerback Jordan Thomas.

In addition, Bob Stoops was named Coach of the Year in the Big 12, his fifth time to receive the honor, and Westbrook was named Offensive Player of the Year in the conference, finishing just ahead of Mayfield.

Westbrook and Mayfield are both headed to New York this weekend as finalists for the 2016 Heisman Trophy, only the fifth time ever that two players from the same team have been finalists for the award in the same year. Two Oklahoma teammates – Jason White and Adrian Peterson – were also Heisman finalists in 2004.

Westbrook and Texas running back D’Onta Foreman were the only unanimous first-team selections.

Jordan Willis, a linebacker for Kansas State was named Defensive Player of the Year and freshman running back Justice Hill was voted the award as Newcomer of the Year.

Three Oklahoma players were named to the second team: running back Samaje Perine, offensive guard Ben Powers and linebacker Ogbonnia Okoronkwo.

Oklahoma’s seven first-team members led all Big 12 schools. West Virginia was second with four players; Texas, Oklahoma State and Kansas State had three each.

First-team selections included nine seniors, nine juniors and seven sophomores.
