In today's college football more than ever, one program's loss usually means a gain for another, and the Oklahoma Sooners could be the beneficiaries this time.

Wide receiver Brayden Allen, who has recently emerged as a target for the Sooners, decommitted from the Tulane Green Wave on Monday, according to Sam Spiegelman of Rivals.

Brayden Allen decommits from Tulane after recent visit to Oklahoma

The Sooners extended an offer to Allen on Aug. 9 as they were struggling to land a second receiver to their 2026 class. Allen then recently visited OU on Sept. 20, when the Sooners beat Auburn. Allen also visited Colorado this past weekend, so it seems one of OU or Colorado will be Allen's next landing spot.

Ole Miss and Oklahoma State have also offered Allen since he initially committed to Tulane on July 16.

Allen, listed at 6-foot-1, is a consensus three-star recruit from Lafayette Christian Academy in Louisiana. According to the 247Sports Composite, Allen is the No. 84 receiver in the 2026 class and No. 20 overall prospect in the state of Louisiana.

Last season as a junior, Allen had 55 catches for 1,155 yards and 10 touchdowns with 21 yards per reception. He also plays on defense and special teams for Lafayette Christian Academy.

Since the Sooners offered Allen, they picked up a commitment from 6-foot-5 three-star receiver Xavier Okwufulueze from Rejoice Christian Academy in Owasso, Oklahoma. He was OU's first in-state addition to the 2026 group after reportedly committing on the spot when the Sooners offered on Sept. 1.

The Sooners' first wide receiver pledge from the 2026 class was four-star Daniel Odom from California.
