What the NBA world witnessed Buddy Hield do Sunday night was nothing new for Sooner Nation.

The Golden State Warriors advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals of the NBA Playoffs after beating the Houston Rockets 103-89 in Game 7 thanks to Hield's record performance at Toyota Center.

Buddy Hield ties 3-point record in Game 7 vs. Houston Rockets

Hield dropped a game-high 33 points in the season-saving win. He also added three assists and three rebounds in the performance. Stephen Curry was next for the Warriors with 22 points.

Not very often is a player the best shooter on the court when they're sharing it with Curry. But on Sunday night, no one has ever shot better than Hield did in a Game 7 with the entire season on the line.

It was a record-tying performance for Hield. He made nine of 11 3-point attempts. His nine 3-pointers tied for the most ever in a Game 7 of the NBA Playoffs.

Hield is the last former Sooner still alive in the NBA Playoffs after Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks fell short in the NBA Play-In Tournament, and Austin Reaves lost in the first round with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Warriors will play the Minnesota Timberwolves at 8:30 p.m. CT Tuesday in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals. The winner of the Warriors and Timberwolves will play the victor of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets.

But as Young watched and enjoyed Hield's performance with every other NBA fan, he and the rest of Sooner Nation tipped their cap to Hield, who played four seasons at Oklahoma and was the John Wooden Award winner as a senior in 2016. He also led the country in 3-point shots that season.
